Vennbahn Day 3 St Vith to Troisvierges

 What a welcome it was to be woken by sunshine beaming into the room, a short stroll to the bakers on the corner for our croissant and coffee and picked up our rolls for lunch and then back to pack our bags and check out of the bed and bike hotel, where the bikes really do have their own special place! It is so different here, everywhere we have been is set out for cyclist, and even along the trails there are bike charging points and tool stations. Our day saw us leave the town and head out into the countryside, not much traffic on the roads, and then through some little hamlets, with cheery waves from the locals. The lanes were quiet, the sun shining and the miles just seemed to pass by, we reached our first tunnel of the day, and even that had automatic lighting for when we entered! Finding a picnic bench is never hard along the route, and enjoyed our tea and cake at 11 (for Andy 🤣) we then met up again with our Dutch friends on the trail again, and this time was our final farew...

Vennbahn Day 2 Monschau to St Vith

 Well that was a strange night - no part of the floor in the apartment was level so it felt like you had one too many to drink, especially when the lights were out! Today we wake up to rain mist and an uphill section to get out of the valley, in waterproofs we se off after our bread and jam rolls, didn’t quite get the breakfast terminology right this morning, but managed to point and get some nice cake for tea break at 11🤣🤣 One back on the trail from where we left it yesterday we had to take a layer off as we were too warm, the rain had stopped so we were hoping it would brighten up No more than 5 minutes down the track the rain returned and cycled onto the next shelter to done our rain kit sgsin and whilst there some warming coffee We met.
